Aristotle

Aristotle (384–322 BCE) was a Greek philosopher and polymath born at Stagira in northern Greece. He studied at Plato’s Academy in Athens for about twenty years. After Plato’s death, he worked in Assos and on Lesbos, conducting research in natural philosophy and biology. He later tutored Alexander, son of Philip II of Macedon. Around 335 BCE, Aristotle founded the Lyceum in Athens. His works address logic, metaphysics, ethics, politics, physics, biology, rhetoric, and poetics. He died at Chalcis in 322 BCE.
