Al-Farabi
Abū Naṣr al-Fārābī (c. 870–950/951 CE) was a Central Asian philosopher and polymath associated with the Islamic Golden Age. He was born in Fārāb (possibly in the region of present-day Kazakhstan) and later studied and worked in major intellectual centers, including Baghdad and Aleppo. He wrote extensively on philosophy, logic, language, music, metaphysics, ethics, and political theory. His thought engaged deeply with Plato and Aristotle and sought to integrate philosophy with Islamic intellectual traditions. His major works include The Virtuous City, The Political Regime, and The Great Book of Music. He died in Damascus.
